Contractors and trades / screen enclosure contractor

One Tuesday at a screen enclosure contractor.

Half the calls are worth a truck roll. The other half cost you one.

A trade where the sorting matters more than the answering. A composite day, not a client's records. Nothing here is a measured result.

Time

What happens

What the system does

7:15am

What happens

First message of the day. A single torn panel on a lanai.

What the system does

Answers what a panel repair generally runs, from the approved range, and says whether the company takes that work on. No truck is scheduled to go and find out.

8:40am

What happens

Somebody wants a full cage rebuilt after the last storm.

What the system does

Takes the footprint, the height, whether the old cage is still standing, and a number. That one goes straight to the estimator.

10:00am

What happens

A homeowner asks whether the company pours the concrete too.

What the system does

Says what is in scope and what is not, and does not let the boundary go fuzzy to keep the lead alive.

11:30am

What happens

Two rescreens and a question about pet mesh.

What the system does

Answered from the file. The estimator's phone stays quiet.

1:10pm

What happens

Someone wants a price for a cage they have not measured.

What the system does

Explains what the estimator actually needs and asks for photographs. The callback then starts from something rather than from nothing.

3:00pm

What happens

An HOA asks about approved colors and post spacing.

What the system does

Answers what the company has done there before and hands the rest to a person, because an HOA document is not a thing to guess at.

5:45pm

What happens

The crew is off the clock. Messages keep arriving from people who just got home and looked at their lanai.

What the system does

All answered. The small ones resolved, the large ones queued with photographs already attached.

8:20pm

What happens

A repair genuinely too small to be worth doing.

What the system does

Says so, and says who might. Better to lose an unprofitable job in one message than across three visits.

The estimator drove out twice today and both were worth driving to. Sorting out the small ones is not a lesser job than winning the large ones. It is the same job.

Every line here is a composite. It is not drawn from a client's records and no number on this page is a measured result.
