Contractors and trades / pool builder
One Tuesday at a pool builder.
Nine months from signature to swim. Most of the questions arrive before the signature.
A long sale with a short window to answer. A composite day, not a client's records. Nothing here is a measured result.

What the system does
7:00am
Two overnight inquiries, and one is about servicing a pool this company did not build.
Answered honestly: the company builds and does not service. Points them at someone who does, and does not take the name just to be polite about it.
8:45am
“How much is a pool?”
Explains what moves the number: the size, the finish, the screen, the deck, and whether the lot needs work first. Gives the range the builder approved and calls it a range.
10:15am
Somebody asks how long it takes.
Gives the honest range, permitting included, which is the part nobody expects and everybody is angry about later.
11:50am
An HOA question about setbacks.
Says what is typical and that the survey decides it. Does not guess at a specific lot.
2:00pm
A homeowner three weeks into their build asks when the shell gets poured.
Recognized as an existing customer and routed to the person who actually knows, rather than answered from a generic build schedule.
4:30pm
Somebody whose budget is a spa rather than a pool.
Says so, says what that budget does cover, and lets them decide. No four weeks of drawings first.
7:40pm
Two people on a couch, looking at photographs of finishes.
Answers what they ask about finishes, screens, heaters, and what happens when it rains for three weeks. Asks for a number after that, not before it.
9:30pm
Nothing more tonight.
The ones that matter are in order for the morning.
Two of these were never going to be customers, and both found that out today rather than in week five. The builder's calendar is the constraint in this business, not the phone.
Every line here is a composite. It is not drawn from a client's records and no number on this page is a measured result.
