Contractors and trades / cleaning service
One Friday at a cleaning service.
The one who calls back first gets the house. There is no second conversation.
A trade decided in a single phone call, usually by whoever answered it. A composite day, not a client's records. Nothing here is a measured result.

What the system does
7:00am
In-laws arrive Sunday and the house is not ready.
Answers immediately. Asks the size of the house, how many bathrooms, and whether it is one clean or ongoing.
7:45am
They want to know the price.
Gives the range the company approved for that size and says the first clean costs more than the ones after it, which is true and better said now.
8:50am
Somebody asks whether the company brings supplies.
Answers from the approved material, including what it does not do. Ovens, windows and inside cabinets each have their own answer.
10:10am
A caller asks whether the cleaners are insured and background checked.
Answers plainly, because this is the question underneath the whole call. Vague here loses the job.
11:30am
Someone wants a move-out clean and a deposit back.
Says what is included and does not promise any landlord will be satisfied. That is not the company's to promise.
1:15pm
A regular customer needs to skip next week.
Recognized as an existing schedule and handed to a person, with the day already attached.
2:40pm
Somebody asks whether they need to be home.
Answers, and asks how the crew gets in. The key question is the one that ruins a morning when nobody asks it.
4:00pm
A caller wants somebody there tomorrow.
Does not promise it. Takes the details and says the office will call with what is actually open.
8:30pm
A first inquiry from somebody who has called two other companies today.
Answers. Neither of the others has called back yet.
The Sunday job was won before eight in the morning by being the first voice that answered. Nothing clever happened. Somebody asked a question and got an answer, which on this Friday made the company the only one still in the running.
Every line here is a composite. It is not drawn from a client's records and no number on this page is a measured result.
